Call for Participation in Young Feminist Blogathon: new deadline is October 5th!

Submitted by Nelly on 21/09/2011 3 Comments

There is still time to participate in the Young Feminist Blogathon. The deadline has been extended to October 5th 2011.

Activism is a journey of learning, change and inspiration. Documentation is an important process for evaluating and reflecting on the activist process. In the past 6 months, youth in general and young feminists in particular around the world have inspired new perspectives and attitudes towards social change. From the role of youth in Arab Springs to slutwalks organized in the Ukraine, South Africa, and India and other creative actions organized by young women around the world, young feminists are claiming their role as central agents in instigating transformation. And the Young Feminist Wire wants to know more by hearing it from young feminists themselves.

If you are a young woman (under 30) active on women’s rights issues, we want to hear your story.

What motivated you to become a feminist activist? What issues does your activism focus on? What other issues are young feminist activists organizing around in your context? How are they creating change?

Tell us about an organizing experience that taught you something about young feminist activism or moved you in some way. What did you learn from the experience and what advice would you give to other young feminist activists outside of your region, country or context based on this experience?
