PART TIME TERM POSITION (ONE YEAR-MAY BE RENEWED)

HOURS OF WORK: Monday – Friday, some weekend and evening hours
STARTING SALARY: $25.517 – $29.156 per hour
DURATION OF TERM: February, 16, 2015 – February 12, 2016

The Teen Talk Program is looking for a dynamic youth-oriented presenter/facilitator. We
deliver prevention education workshops and provide peer support training for youth 14 – 19.
Workshops and trainings are offered in the areas of reproductive, sexual and mental health,
anti-violence and substance use awareness.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 2 years experience working in the area of health education/promotion with youth
• Degree in health, education or the social sciences preferred
• Thorough knowledge of sexuality, reproductive health, anti-violence, mental health and
substance use related issues
• Awareness of and sensitive to issues of cultural diversity
• Awareness of and sensitive to issues of diverse economic backgrounds
• Experience facilitating groups
• Demonstrated effective classroom management skills
• Demonstrated effective communication skills relating to youth presentations
• Ability to work in a team and independently in a professional manner
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
• Valid drivers license, access to a vehicle an asset and availability to travel throughout Manitoba

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Co-facilitation of health education workshops and peer support trainings throughout the province
• Assist in the research and development of workshops, resource materials and peer
support trainings
